Kirby Garry

Kirby Garry has served as the Assistant Athletic Director of External Operations since August, 2008. Garry's areas of responsibility include: communications, corporate partnerships, development and marketing. Garry works closely with University Advancement on all development related activities for athletics and recently added oversight of annual giving and alumni relations at the university level to his responsibiities in athletics.

Pilar Gose

Pilar Gose has worked within University Advancement for over four years. She oversees annual giving, the CSUMB alumni program, the Fort Ord alumni program, the parent program, the university's donor recognition societies, and the Otter Ambassador program. Her work is focused on funding opportunities for the university and building relationships between the campus and external community.

She is a graduate of CSUMB with a B.A. in Social and Behavioral Sciences.

Patti Hiramoto

Dr. Hiramoto has worked at CSU Monterey Bay for seven years, first from 1996 to 2000 as director of equal employment opportunity and again since 2008, when she rejoined the university as associate director of academic personnel. From 2000 to 2008, Dr. Hiramoto worked at UC Santa Cruz as director of equal employment opportunity and affirmative action.

Deborah Howitt

Debbie Howitt is a seasoned fundraising professional with 12 years of experience in major gifts and planned giving. Starting out in healthcare public relations, marketing and annual giving, a desire to work in the nonprofit sector led to a career in fundraising. She moved from healthcare to higher education when she joined the CSUMB team in 2009.

Debbie is a native New Yorker, born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens. She attended Michigan State University and the University of Phoenix and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Administration.

Jackie Wendland

Before coming to CSUMB’s Advancement Office, Jackie had primary responsibility for nine years for managing the Community Foundation for Monterey County’s annual grant programs and services for donors. Prior to that, she held several nonprofit senior fund development positions and worked as an attorney in the areas of real estate, land use and securities law. She also has held several leadership positions on nonprofit Boards including the East Bay Leave a Legacy Council, Hospice of Contra Costa County, and Animal Friends Rescue Project.
