"The shape, the arrow and the numerology, something about the piece just made me want to look at it and look at it and look at it," she said. Armillary spheres were ancient instruments used to model the way the solar system works. They were also used for astronomical instruction.

CSU Monterey Bay will receive $1.27 million from the federal government to help low-income and first-generation college students and students with disabilities complete their education.
